SPORTA is designed for grassroots, amateur, semi-professional, and elite sports clubs; athletes at all stages of their careers; fans and supporters; and sport-adjacent businesses such as retailers, coaches, venues, and suppliers.

What problem is SPORTA solving?
Sport delivers enormous social value in the UK, yet much of the sector is financially fragile. Most clubs struggle with seasonal income, volunteer burnout, and limited access to appropriate financial tools. Athletes face income uncertainty and financial vulnerability. SPORTA exists to address these systemic challenges with financial services built specifically for sport.

Regulatory Status

Are you regulated?
SPORTA is in the process of becoming regulated. Some services offered before full authorisation are delivered through regulated third-party partners.
What is your current regulatory status?
SPORTA is currently in the regulatory review stage of the UK banking authorisation process.
Who regulates you?
UK banks are authorised and regulated by the Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA) and the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).
Is SPORTA a fully authorised bank?
No. SPORTA is not yet a fully authorised bank.
What happens to customer funds before full authorisation?
Before full authorisation, SPORTA will not hold customer deposits. Any regulated products offered are delivered through authorised partners.
When do you expect to receive full authorisation?
SPORTA expects authorisation with restrictions in Q3 2026, subject to regulatory approval.

Products and features at launch

What products will be available at launch?
SPORTA expects to offer digital current accounts alongside sport-specific features. Insurance and funding support are available earlier through partners.
Will you offer personal and business accounts?
Yes. SPORTA plans to offer personal accounts and business accounts for clubs and sport-related businesses.
Will there be a mobile app?
Yes. SPORTA is being built as a mobile-first digital platform.
Will you issue debit or virtual cards?
SPORTA plans to issue debit and virtual cards, subject to authorisation.
Will you support payments and transfers?
SPORTA expects to support everyday payments and UK transfers.
Will you offer savings or lending products?
Savings and lending products are planned for the future, subject to regulatory approval.
