SPORTA Launches Crowdcube Fundraise: Own part of the movement transforming UK Sport
28 October, 2025
For too long, sport has been marginalised, forced to rely on donations, volunteers, and short-term sponsorships. This unhealthy dependence has left the financial foundations of sport fragile and unsustainable. At most levels, sport is in trouble.
Our own research shows that 59% of grassroots clubs fear they may not survive the next 3–5 years. That figure is up 19% on Sport England’s own findings, which already painted a stark picture of the pressures facing community clubs. Behind these numbers are real consequences: children losing safe places to play, communities losing spaces to belong, and generations being deprived of opportunities to dream, to stay healthy, and to build resilience.
We must not fail. Because if we do, we don’t just lose clubs, we lose the very fabric of community life that sport sustains.
This is why SPORTA exists. We are building the next generation of digital and financial infrastructure, but with a mission - to protect and empower clubs, athletes, and fans. And now, through our Crowdcube campaign, we are inviting those who believe most in our mission to not just join the movement, but to own a part of it.
An Exclusive First Look
Before the campaign opens to the public, SPORTA will run an exclusive private phase of the Crowdcube raise. This is your chance to secure early access and stand alongside those who believe most deeply in our mission. To be part of this private round, simply complete the investor form online.
The full campaign is scheduled to go live in November, with exact dates to be announced just days before launch.
Leadership Comment
Andrew Smith, Founder and CEO of SPORTA, commented:
“Our Crowdcube campaign aligns with our belief that our community, those who join our movement, should be the ones who financially benefit from our success the most. We want our community to not just be part of the movement, but to take a stake in it, a slice of ownership, helping us drive forward and achieve our mission.”
Why This Matters
This is about more than investment. It’s about protecting safe places for kids to play, ensuring sport remains a source of belonging, and giving all of us opportunities to thrive. It’s also about building one of the most exciting fintech opportunities of our time.
Would you go back in time if you could have invested in Monzo, Starling, or Revolut at the beginning of their journeys? Today, you have that chance - with SPORTA.

Sport England has previously reported that around 40% of community sports clubs feared closure within five years due to financial pressures. Sporta’s own research now shows that figure has risen to 59%.
